In the small village of Starunya, Ivano-Frankivsk region, one of the newest and brightest spiritual centers of Western Ukraine is located - the Vacation Center of the Blessed Hieromartyr Simeon Lukach, which includes the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. This place has become an important spiritual center, where thousands of pilgrims gather every month for prayer, vigils and divine services. On August 22, 2025, the new church in Starunya was solemnly consecrated - this event became a landmark for both the local community and the entire Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The consecration was led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, in co-service with hierarchs and clergy from different regions of Ukraine.
Project objectivesThe architectural concept of the temple involved creating a space filled with light and spiritual depth, combining the traditions of sacred architecture and modern technical solutions. The main requirements set by the customers and architects were as follows:● to ensure maximum light transparency of the internal space;● to preserve the spiritual atmosphere of the sanctuary;● to select structures that will work in the difficult climatic conditions of the Carpathian region;● to integrate modern materials without violating the architectural integrity of the building.
Our company CEFT manufactured for this project:● aluminum facade translucent structures that fill the temple with natural light and open the internal space for visual contact with the environment;● aluminum doors that meet the requirements of intensive use and stylistically emphasize the restraint and grandeur of sacred architecture.
The structures were manufactured in accordance with the exact design dimensions and technical requirements. We ensured full compliance of the products with the design solutions and operational requirements.
The project was implemented in close cooperation with the architects and the customer, who set themselves the task of combining modernity and spirituality. Our CEFT team:● developed technical solutions together with the design group;● manufactured the structures in our own production;● ensured compliance of the products with design standards and specifications.
This allowed us to fully realize the architects' plan and preserve the purity of the forms of cultural heritage.
Why aluminum
For sacred objects, such as the temple in Starun, aluminum has a number of important advantages:● durability and stability in changing weather conditions;● the ability to create large translucent surfaces without losing strength;● aesthetic neutrality that does not distract from the spiritual perception of space;● low maintenance requirements.
The implementation of this project has shown that modern aluminum systems can be effectively integrated into sacred architecture, emphasizing its meaning and functionality. CEFT continues to implement individual solutions for objects of various purposes - from residential to religious, with high responsibility and professional expertise.
