Types of aluminum profiles: warm or cold, how not to make a mistake with the choice?

Aluminum structures are about modern design, reliability and durability. But when it comes to choosing a profile, the question always arises: warm or cold? We explain simply, without technical language, what is better for your facility.

What is a cold aluminum profile? This is a profile without a thermal break, meaning that heat from the street or from the room is transmitted unhindered through aluminum. Despite this, this profile:
• lightweight
• thin
• significantly cheaper than warm

It is mainly used in the design of internal office partitions, vestibules at entrances, balcony blocks (if there is no need for thermal insulation), and storefronts inside shopping centers.

What is a warm aluminum profile? This is a profile with a thermal break, an insert inside that “breaks” the path of cold and retains heat in the room. This is another level of comfort and energy efficiency.
What are its main advantages?
• Keeps heat and does not let cold in
• Eliminates the problem of condensation

It is used mainly in panoramic windows of apartments and houses, when glazing balconies and loggias “under insulation”, in facades, winter gardens, in commercial facilities where thermal insulation is important.

So, we can summarize:🔸We choose a cold profile if you need to make internal partitions, a vestibule or a showcase in a shopping center without special requirements for heat conservation.🔹 Choose a warm profile if you are building a home, want a warm balcony, facade or panoramic glazing, where it is important to retain heat and save on heating.
